good times in the atl!

i really had a great time this past weekend visiting these fine people in hot-lanta!i SO enjoyed some quality time with my sister. we even got a "ladies afternoon out" just the two of us. we had lunch and got pedicures! doesn't get much better than that! i guess it goes without saying that i loved my time with these two cuties:here's my favorite picture with addie: and my favorite with thomas:

and what is a trip to the atl without a stop at this fine establishment?again, how cute are they:running thru the park, they are even cute from behind!
and i love this one, i think she looks a little scared. but trust me, it is an act. nothing scares that girl, NOTHING! : ) and last but not least, this one. i just like it. probably because i really like them!i will admit it was nice to get a full night's sleep when i returned home. but, even sleep deprived and exhausted, a trip to see these folks and live in all my "aunt kissy" fullness is always a favorite vacation destination!

a list, because i love myself a list!

i'm in atlanta this weekend visiting my sister, her husband, my nephew and my niece. love it here! so, a quick list, because it's nap time and i have a little bit of free time and my sister's laptop...a perfect combination! : )

things i have loved about my trip so far:

• the beautiful weather!
• thomas and addie are SOOO sweet!
• and so smart!
• and so cute!
• i could go on and on...
• their mom and dad are really great too!
• lunching with tami on friday.
• all things "fickle pickle"
• ahhh...a good pedicure always makes a girl feel cuter!
• two words...shoe shopping.
• thank you teva and dsw!
• getting to see mary
• the hilarious and golf-ball-sized-hail filled ride from the airport...crazy!
• getting to see o. he's great.
• telling stories after dinner. (thomas' was my favorite!)
• snuggles and kisses and laughter with two really darling kids!
• spending time with 4 people i love so much and having it be so easy!

i've had a crazy week so far. with no time to blog. but, i thought real-quick-like i'd post a few pics from the last week or so.

first, an impromptu lunch with h and his momma at b-town's brand new jimmy*johns. good times! and, i'm proud to report that we found all the items in the puzzle below. we're good, we know! i got to help my friend graham celebrate his 8th birthday. here he is with his cute family and his darling cake. happy birthday graham! you sure are great!
and oh my...the highlight of my weekend...i got to spend time with my dear friend shelbi. she was in town visiting and we had got some terrific time together! we went dinner at the landing and then to see a band play. the band part was hilarious. the dinner part was full of heart to heart honest conversation - my favorite kind! so, we got quality time at dinner and good giggle time at the warehouse. fun, fun! i LOVE shelbi!then last night my grace group met for dinner to celebrate kathy's birthday. and look what we found afterward:
i think anyone who knows me knows how i love FREE stuff! and i love these ladies too! here we are with our free cones. free, yes, free. no charge. love it!

there you have it...a little blogging recap of all the photos i've taken this past week. there is a lot of stuff i didn't take pictures of that i want to share about, but, to be honest, my office is too busy. suffice it to say i value honesty, apologies, real people, good doctors, the new walking track, retail therapy, being a little humbled and having it not hurt too much, a clean house, and warm weather. that about sums it up for this week, i think! : )

my weekend, in review...

what a great weekend! it started celebrating this fun friend's 11th birthday!her party was a riot. with a good idea by her creative mother which went somewhat bad. let me just say this...when planning a party...you might want to remember...tie dieing is very labor intensive for the mother. i'm just trying to help here. : ) but, it was a terrific party, none the less, and i sure enjoyed hanging out with these girls:then saturday susan and jake came over to help me fill easter eggs for the big hunt on sunday. jake ended up outside with drea the entire time! he did everything she did in the yard. he was quite the cute little helper! adorable!!!after that i went to see this movie...which i liked a lot but was very different, and mighty confusing at times! then we went to dinner at danna's. yum! can you say catfish sandwich and mean it? then sunday, easter sunday to be exact. the annual easter potluck was moved to sonja's due to rain. but we found out location does not matter, it is the people that make the day! check em out. we're cute, i know!

and last but not least, the ladies at the potluck. i sure am blessed with some amazing friends!so, there you have it. a rundown on my weekend! it was filled with friends, and fun, and celebrating! hope yours was too!

truth...

i was driving today when a little piece of truth poked at my heart. i'm trying to listen for truth when it strikes me. today, it did. and i listened. you know what i remembered?

i was created with a God size void,

it lives inside my soul every day,

and nothing but My Creator can fill it.

not at all sure how all that works. but i know it is true.

not alot to blog about today. just thought i'd share a few pictures from this past weekend.

friday night i had some of my 5th grade friends over for a movie night. they are such fun girls, but, they have a little too much energy for me sometimes!!! : ) this picture sums up the night:then saturday i got to help rebecca celebrate her birthday. what a sweet girl and SUCH a fun party! her mom knows how to throw 'em! here are "the ladies" (plus montana and zac) at the party. we enjoyed some fun chat time while the kids played all sorts of olympic games.
something about my life in b-town that i love is that even though i don't have kids of my own, i am friends with a whole bunch of great ones!

a little truth for your monday...

so lately, i'm aware of things that strike my heart as true. it doesn't happen all the time, but, when it does, i notice. sunday, it happened. during this song at church my soul resonated with the truth of these words:

my office has been CRAZY busy the last few days. so, i have not had an extra second to blog. but, before the week is officially over (i have 15 minutes!) i thought i'd share this pic: wednesday night i got to take my friend julie out to celebrate her birthday. we went to our favorite pizza place! where we shared a great meal and even greater conversation. we are now experts on embracing our "human-ness!" then, we just HAD to stop for some ice cream. and then we ran over and did a quick walk through of craig and amy's new kitchen remodel. it is LOVELY! all in all it was a wonderful evening celebrating a wonderful girl!!

now, it is friday at 4:50 and i'm ready for the weekend! hope you each have a great one!
