to read or not to read, that is the question...

i met with my book group on tuesday. i really like them...what i'm not sure i like is the book we discussed...i'm not really sure what to say about it. in a way, i'm glad i read it. he is an amazing writer. and he has some insightful things to say. but overall, this book was pretty depressing. i found the characters hard to like and some of their struggles were a little too realistic. it was simply painful to read at times. but all that said, it was very interesting. and as with his other books, i'm left with images and information i won't soon forget. so, i guess read at your own risk. it's worth it in the end. just be prepared for a bumpy ride.

but would you like to know the best part of book group last night? we ended the evening in amy's new hot tub. oh yeah we did! we're fancy like that. : )
